For cofounder and president Justin Seidenfeld, the idea was personal. “When my daughter was born, I felt she should have the same benefits of our Filtered Showerhead for her bath water,” he shares with NewBeauty. “I wanted to ensure we were bathing her in water without chlorine and irritants.”
That same philosophy led to the creation of both the standard and Baby Bath Tub Filter ($89), which makes bath time safer and more soothing for even the most delicate skin. Made with FDA-approved, BPA-free silicone, the baby version acts as a spout cover, water temperature indicator, and filtration system all in one. In a recent consumer study, 88 percent of parents said their child’s skin felt softer and more hydrated, and 83 percent noticed less dryness and fewer visible signs of irritation after just 30 days.
Both filters are built with Canopy’s best-in-class, three-stage filtration system, which combines activated carbon to reduce chlorine, calcium sulfite to neutralize up to 99 percent of it, and KDF-55 to help remove heavy metals and prevent bacterial growth. That’s big news considering more than 85 percent of the U.S. has hard water (water that’s high in minerals and known to weaken the skin barrier, cause dryness, and trigger flare-ups in those with eczema or sensitivity).
