One of TikTok’s most entertaining trends is makeup-unaware partners hilariously narrating their significant other’s beauty routine, and the latest couple to join in on the fun is Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco.
On Thursday, March 6, the duo filmed themselves as the record producer took the reins on Gomez’s makeup routine, confidently deciding which products to use. Naturally, they kept it in the Rare Beauty family because, of course. He started with a pressed powder, sweeping it across her face—a bold and unconventional first step for any glam session.
Next, he reached for the brand’s new Soft Pinch Liquid Contour, applying a very generous amount to her cheeks before admitting it looks way better when she does it. (Spoiler: it was way too much.) Sensing things could spiral, Gomez gently steered him toward a safer, more foolproof step: lip oil. That one, thankfully, went off without a hitch.
His technique showed some promise when he dabbed highlighter onto her cheekbones, but things quickly went south when he decided her jawline could use a little glow, too. He sealed the deal with setting spray before declaring that she looked “so hot.” Gomez, however, wasn’t entirely convinced.
Blanco even doubled down in the comments section, writing, “Wait, I think I did well,” and it’s racked up over 100,000 views and counting—NewBeauty included.
