The king of all things Bravo, Andy Cohen, may soon be looking a bit more worry-free. The 56-year-old father of two, who also boasts a relentless work schedule, revealed on his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, that he tried Botox Cosmetic for the first time.
During an exchange with co-host John Hill, Cohen shared that he’d been planning the treatment for a while, adding that he was also at the dermatologist for a skin check (the star has gone public in the past about his experience with melanoma). While at his dermatologist’s office, he went through with the wrinkle-relaxing injections despite friends like Sarah Jessica Parker voicing their reservations.
Cohen explained that his dermatologist reassured him, saying, “We’ll do just a little bit,” but Cohen admitted he wasn’t entirely prepared for the process. He joked about skipping numbing cream, saying, “Time is money, girl.”
The procedure involved “seven or eight shots” targeting his crow’s feet and above his eyebrows. “He did it right here, above my crow’s feet, above the eyebrows on both sides, right in the middle and then up by my hairline.” When describing the procedure, Cohen quipped, “He’s like, ‘Oh, it’s just like a bee sting.’ And I’m like, ‘Bee stings hurt!'”
Interestingly, Cohen said his doctor was hesitant about treating his forehead entirely. “He was also a little like, the train is firmly out of the station,” regarding the lines on his forehead. “He was like, look, there are some things we’re not going to be able to fix,” Cohen shared.
The talk show host and producer described the immediate results as subtle, noting his forehead felt “dull” afterward. While he’s unsure about the final outcome, his makeup artist immediately noticed a difference. Cohen mentioned, “There’s a very good chance that we will not notice any difference, at which point he will give me a little more.”
He even shared updates on his private Instagram, telling followers, “Daddy’s getting Botox,” and revealed, “I heard from so many people—many of my friends were kind of upset. They were like, ‘No, don’t do it. Why are you doing this?’”
Hill added, “You have such an expressive face. No one wants you to lose your ability to really be animated and I don’t think I will.”
We hope Hill is right because half the fun of watching the Housewives reunions is the variety of looks on Andy’s face. We’ll definitely be tuning in to Watch What Happens Live to see the results in real-time.
