Ali Landry is giving her followers an inside look into her Morpheus8 treatment journey. In an Instagram post on Monday, April 22, the 50-year-old founder of the popular RE/SHAPE lifestyle platform shared behind-the-scenes footage of her getting the nonsurgical skin-rejuvenation procedure—and she’s making a compelling case for trying it.
“I just arrived at Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center to have my third Morpheus8 treatment,” said the Reshape Your Life author in the post. “These are one of those treatments that have really helped me to delay the aging process. I turned 50 in July, and I have to say, I’m pretty happy with how my skin looks, and it’s because of treatments like this.”
“The reason I’m doing it is because I want that skin-tightening effect and I also want to build collagen,” she continued. [With] this treatment, you can use it on your body, you can use it to tighten up your stomach, you can use it for acne, you can use it for the top of your knees as they start to sag…”
Landry went on to explain that Morpheus8 is a combination of radio-frequency and microneedling. And she was spot-on with her definition. Delray Beach, FL dermatologist Dr. Janet Allenby previously told NewBeauty that “it’s called Morpheus8 because while it has the ability to penetrate down to seven millimeters, the zone of where it affects skin can actually reach down to eight millimeters.”
Dr. Allenby continued: “The Morpheus8 handpiece consists of 40 thin, gold-coated microneedles that heat up tissue using radio-frequency energy. It targets tissue at three levels in millisecond intervals. It’s a great skin-tightener and I like to pair it with other modalities for cellulite or fat reduction.”
Landry does caution her fans that there might be some discomfort, calling it a “spicy” sensation. However, she reassures them that she uses lidocaine and Pro-Nox (which she compares to laughing gas), a combo that makes the experience pain-free.
In Landry’s videos, she bravely documented her provider—Los Angeles, CA nurse injector Anni Kim—using the handpiece on her facial skin. She also recorded herself an hour after the procedure, giving her 111,000 followers a peek at her slightly red, post-procedure skin.
This certainly isn’t Landry’s first foray into discussing skin treatments she’s undergone. In a sit-down interview with NewBeauty in April 2023, she shared her philosophy on trying different anti-aging procedures.
“I pretty much do it all!” she said. “I’ll try it all! But my approach is this: I want everything to look as natural as possible. I don’t want to look enhanced in any way, shape, or form. I’m hyper-aware of that. I have a very detailed eye. I do really enjoy the results I get from radio-frequency microneedling. It is painful, but they have Pro-Nox that they let you suck on.”
In addition to Morpheus8, Landry has tried Ultherapy—which uses ultrasound energy under the skin to stimulate collagen production—and noticed significant improvement, especially under the neck and chin areas. She also underwent stem-cell injections into her face, initially hesitating because she didn’t think she’d be a good “before-and-after” example, but was pleasantly surprised by the results, to say the least.
“I could not believe the difference that it made,” she told NewBeauty. “Those stem cells! All I can say is WOW. Everything was lifted, and my lines were definitely not as deep. It was a pretty big deal.”
