Man-about-town Walton Goggins poked fun at the stream of “beautiful journalism” that touches on everything from his hairline to his sex-symbol status during his Saturday Night Live monologue this past weekend. In full support, we can’t seem to get enough of The White Lotus and The Righteous Gemstones star, and every and any product he uses. Luckily for us, celebrity makeup artist, NewBeauty Brain Trust member and Goggins’s go-to groomer Ermahn Ospina is always willing to share, as he filled us in on all the skin and hair notes from the big night.
“SNL is one of the most iconic T.V. shows in our culture—just as iconic as Walton is,” Ospina says. “For this fast-paced hair and makeup changes on this type of show, I wanted to use products that would take care of the hair and skin and would last all night.”
For skin, Ospina used a full lineup of the always-luxe Orlane line. “I started preparing the skin with B21 EXTRAORDINAIRE Cleansing Care ($70). Then, I used Absolute Skin Recovery Mask ($95), followed by Elixir Royale Serum ($700). For moisturizer, I used B21 EXTRAORDINAIRE Absolute Youth Cream ($290) and for lips, I used Magnificent Lip Balm ($45).
For Goggins’s hair, Ospina used the California Born brand, born from a popular Venice-based salon. “I started with California Surf Spray ($25), which gives you volume and texture, and followed with Days of Dirt ($39), a product that helps me style the hair without losing its volume,” Ospina says. “To define some pieces and the ends of the hair, I finished with California Paste ($20).”
