When it comes to beauty budgets, NewBeauty readers have spoken, and there's one beauty category thats non-negotiable. In our recent survey of more than 500 beauty enthusiasts, we asked which areas they'd be most likely to cut back on if they had to reduce overall spending. Surprisingly, only 5.3 percent of respondents said they would cut back on skin care, making it the least likely beauty service to face the chopping block.

This statistic stands out even more when compared to other beauty services. For instance, 30.4 percent said they'd cut back on nail care, 9.4 percent on hair care, and a whopping 55.6 percent on spa and massage services. Even makeup, often considered a daily essential for many, was more likely to face cuts than skin care, with 20.5 percent willing to reduce their cosmetics spending.

True beauty enthusiasts, NewBeauty readers understand the long-term benefits of a consistent skin routine. While a manicure might chip or a blowout might fall flat, the effects of good skin care are cumulative and lasting.

As one reader put it, "Great skin is the foundation for everything else. If my skin looks good, I feel confident with or without makeup." We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.
