The brand has been stoking anticipation on its socials, teasing fans and sparking big engagement with a series of “fake” MUG-inspired products—protein powder, energy drinks and more. Those earlier concepts went viral, and the response ultimately inspired the team to make one of them real. The result is a very real—and very wearable—cologne.

The limited-edition scent launches December 9 exclusively on the @mugrootbeer TikTok Shop. The fragrance features a warm blend of cedar, sandalwood, vanilla and caramel that channels the feeling of that first sip of root beer, uniquely reimagined in scent form.
“Fragrance culture is notoriously serious and heavily aspirational,” said Michael Smith, Vice President of MUG Root Beer. “For us, that meant thinking about what scent would make Dog and our fans come running. Daddy’s Home by MUG Root Beer is for our die-hard MUG fans who believe root beer rules every sense, not just taste.”
As of next week, shoppers can order a $15 bundle that includes a 1.7-fl-oz bottle of the cologne and a 10-pack of MUG Root Beer Mini Cans, available only while supplies last. Orders placed by December 11 will land on doorsteps in time for the holidays.
And for collectors, there’s a bonus worth moving quickly for: 200 bottles will feature a special cap topped with Dog’s face—another touch that makes this drop hard not to smile at.
