We can never get enough Meg Ryan, whether we’re binging her cozy rom-coms or giggling about her commercial reunion with Billy Crystal. When we spotted her on tonight’s 2025 Oscars red carpet, we immediately needed to know more about her look. From her berry lip to her beachy bob, we were obsessed. But of course, a red carpet look is nothing without a good skin care base.

Celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell was the mastermind behind the 63-year-old star’s makeup and skin care at the award show. Strettel wanted to complement the texture and light of Ryan’s gown and accessories by dialing up her glow with strategic skin prep and sparkly makeup.

Strettel began with G.M. Collin Biocellulose Facial Mask ($115), followed by the Instant Radiance Eye Patches ($55). She then applied a few pumps of the Bota-Peptides Serum ($125) to the back of her hands and used a fresh foundation brush to apply the serum in circular motions on Ryan’s face and neck. The brush hack helps skin absorb the product better.

“I really like the texture of the Bota-Peptides Serum,” says Strettel. “The texture is light, so you put it on, and then you just watch it sort of soak in, and when you touch the skin, it’s soft. Some serums are just too oily, but this one has a slip to it. And then when you push it in, you can’t feel any residue.”

Surprisingly, Strettel actually didn’t add any moisturizer over the serum. “We’ve done so much. She’s going on a red carpet, and she’s got her makeup on all day, so I didn’t want to put too many products on or they would be releasing themselves all day and then not holding the makeup.” Then Strettell gently tapped the Bota-Peptides Eye Contour ($86)to help with fine lines and enhance elasticity. The final layer was the Diamond Cream ($270) only on the neck, décolleté and shoulders for some extra glow.
