It’ll instantly make you look more alive.

Makeup certainly isn’t a one-size-fits-all kind of deal. The tips and tricks for achieving various looks to flatter a range of features is endless, which is why we’re always on the hunt for the latest secret to improve our makeup game.

Our latest discovery? An easy way to give yourself an allover rosy complexion without looking like a tomato. One reddit user, who goes by Ravynn15, recently posted a thread to the site saying that she adds a touch of blush to her nose in addition to the blush she put on her cheeks. The result? A fuller glow comparable to that flattering “cold weather flush,” we all know and love.

Unsurprisingly, the thread gained a ton of positive responses from viewers, with one commenter claiming it’s a great hack for every season: “During the summer, it looks sun-kissed; in the winter a bit flushed from the chill. Either way, adorable.”

Celebrity makeup artist, Jenny Patinkin, agrees that this trick is a good way to liven up the skin. “There is nothing more adorable than the pink tip of a little kid’s nose when they come inside from playing in the snow, so it makes sense that applying a little blush there will make you look playful and fresh,” she explains. “More than aiming for the bridge of your nose (which is typically where you would get a sunburn), direct the color at the tip making sure to avoid the area around your nostrils—that’ll just make you look like you’ve been blowing your nose.”

When it comes to product choice, Patinkin recommends using a matte blush in a shade that’s slightly brighter than your natural flush because a shimmery blush will look too shiny and obvious.
