Between a Real Housewives of New York City storyline, a design firm with a portfolio full of Hamptons showstoppers, a mezcal brand she co-founded, a cookbook and a podcast she runs with her husband, Erin Lichy has every reason to be extra. She isn’t. Ask her about any of it and she talks like she’s telling you about her week, not pitching you a brand—which, for a woman with this many businesses, is a flex in its own right.
We sat down with the low-key Lichy to talk where her head is as she goes into the new season, the plastic surgery that made her feel more confident and her decidedly “unprecious” skin-care routine.
RHONY put your life under a microscope. How are you feeling as we go into the latest season?
“It’s always a little nerve-racking before a season airs, but I’m mostly excited. I want people to have fun with it and be entertained. I’ve learned to protect my energy going into premiere season.”
Your skin-care routine is famously low-key. Is there anything you are loving right now?
“I’m not precious about it. I love a Neutrogena face wash and I’ve used CeraVe AM and PM lotion for years. For makeup I am a big fan of Ogee concealer, L’Oréal cream blush, Prada mascara and so much more. People are always asking so I’ve linked a bunch to my ShopMy.”
You’ve been open about your breast augmentation. What made you want to document that process publicly instead of keeping it private, and what surprised you most about it?
“I’m not a gatekeeper. I’m honest with my following about anything I do, and there’s no shame in wanting to look and feel your best after pregnancies and breastfeeding. I feel ten times more confident.
What surprised me was how many women felt exactly the way I did postpartum and how much they wanted to talk about it. I’m really happy I chose Dr. Savetsky—my results look and feel extremely natural, which was the most important thing to me.”
With founder-level stress across four ventures, what’s your go-to for actually de-stressing your skin or mind?
“This past year I found JournalSpeak and meditation through Nicole Sachs’ work, and those are two things I’d never explored before. I use Headspace at night when my brain won’t turn off.
Being out east for the summer has a massive calming effect on me, and the timing couldn’t be better with the show starting in September. We live on a nature reserve, so being around animals and wildlife is incredibly soothing.”
What’s been the most surprising or vulnerable conversation you and your husband have had on the podcast?
“There are no boundaries. We explore all of it—our personal issues, our failures, our wins—because being honest and open with our listeners is the whole point. We’ve talked about sex, finances, reactivity in relationships and how you keep a marriage intact when you’re building companies together and raising four kids.”
With four kids, you don’t have the option of slowing down. Are there any wellness musts you are good about following to feel your best?
“I can’t remember the last time I went a full week without working out. That is a must for my mental state way more than my physical state. I tried Ora Method acupuncture recently and the experience was unbelievable.”
