Alicia Silverstone embodied effortless Hollywood glamour on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards tonight, stepping out with soft, high-shine waves and luminous makeup that felt timeless, yet undeniably modern.

Nailing the perfect balance between Old Hollywood elegance and contemporary polish, celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena focused on fluid movement, longevity and reflective shine—what he considers key elements for one of the most photographed nights of the year.

To achieve the look, he began by pre-drying the hair before applying Maria Nila Gloss Coat ($28) from scalp to ends to smooth the cuticle and enhance shine.

Using a flat brush, he then blow-dried the product into the hair to create a sleek foundation. Before curling, each section was lightly misted with Maria Nila Medium Hold Styling Hairspray ($34.50) to give the hair memory and structure while maintaining a soft, touchable finish.

After tape-in extensions were added to enhance length and density, Mena then used a 1¼-inch curling iron, working in large sections and curling each piece in the same direction to create a consistent, fluid wave. To finish, he applied Maria Nila True Soft Argan Oil ($39), starting about half an inch from the scalp through the ends, softening the waves and delivering a silky, high-gloss finish ideal for red carpet photography and on-camera movement.

The makeup, created by celebrity makeup artist Vincent Oquendo, leaned into classic cinema beauty with a distinctly romantic edge.

“When I first saw Alicia in her va-va-voom dress for the Golden Globes at the fitting, I immediately thought of Catherine Deneuve and wanted to give her a liner that gave you that Old Hollywood feel,” says Oquendo. Drawing inspiration from vintage images of a young Deneuve, he crafted a look that felt sultry, refined and cinematic, with Lush Cosmetics playing a key role in achieving the final effect.

Skin prep was a crucial element of the look. Oquendo began with Lush Calm Face Primer ($35), followed by Gorgeous Moisturizer ($85) and Eau Roma Toner Water ($14) to deeply hydrate and prep the skin. The result was a smooth, radiant complexion, which he says allowed the makeup to wear beautifully all night.
