You should wear support hose for a week and if the veins are bigger, then maybe even longer (about two weeks). For most of the little spider veins, a week is fine. I tell my patients to sleep with them the first night and after that, they need to wear them all day. You can work out with the compression stockings on and do normal activity. Can you lay in the sun? No, because you have your stockings on.
Q: After sclerotherapy do I have to stay out of the sun?
What our experts say:
If you have sclerotherapy with saline, there is not really a need to avoid the sunlight. You should, however, keep your legs wrapped for up to three weeks with some type of compression hose because wearing compression hose gives you a better final result.
