It’s been a big few days for men’s skin-care launches and no one is quite as excited about it as musician Travis Barker, who unveiled his new Barker Wellness Skin Care Collection earlier in the week in partnership with REVOLVE. The five-piece line is “infused with high concentrations of CBD, CBG and CBC” and, as Barker told us he’s hoping it will take skin care to “the next level.”
What do you look for in a skin-care product?
“The main thing I look for in any care product is clean ingredients that I’m familiar with, and for it to be cruelty free—that’s important to me. I want to know everything I’m putting in and on my body.”
Why skin care and why now?
“CBD is something I’ve become really passionate about, so I wanted to create my own line and make sure I translated the core values of Barker Wellness into skin care, keeping everything really high-quality, clean and cruelty free. Cannabinoids have beneficial properties that can help your skin—like fighting inflammation and reducing redness—so we’re really trying to take skin care to the next level.”
Is there anything wellness-wise you wish you knew about sooner?
“Just because something says ‘natural’ it’s not always 100-percent true or even good for you. It’s important to do the research and make sure you know what’s in the product and what you’re putting on your body. I prefer to only use cruelty-free, vegan products with clean ingredients.”
What are you most excited about as we go into fall-winter?
“Family is everything. The fall-winter season means I can start planning a winter trip of skiing and snowboarding with the family!”
Are there any skin-care tips that you’ve picked up from your wife, Kourtney?
“Consistency is key, and Kourtney has taught me the same applies to skin care. I am more consistent with it now, and I see the results—especially by creating a skin-care line that is simple and straightforward for anyone to follow.”
