The jubilant, 40-year-old Australian actress Toni Collette has been in front of the cameras since the early ’90s. Since then, she has gone through many transformations on and off the big (and small) screen.

From the frumpy and awkward 20-something in her breakout role and cult classic Muriel’s Wedding, to the woman with multiple personalities (and looks) in the series United States of Tara, Toni has come full circle to be one of the most beautiful and versatile character actors in Hollywood.

At the Hitchcock premier in Los Angeles recently, she showed us just how far she has come in terms of her look and overall style.

Toni, who has a very light complexion, has evened out her once freckly skin tone gorgeously. While pigment changes go hand in hand with aging, her skin tone has become more even. For those facing discoloration, lead aesthetician at Bliss Los Angeles Lexandra Berchik suggests skin brighteners like embilica, bearberry, peptides and azelaic acid. “Combine them with alpha hydroxyl acids for even better results. Antioxidants like resveratrol and green tea help suppress inflammation, which contributes to melanin changes too.”

Also, to even out spots, redness and imperfections, wear foundation that leaves the skin looking fresh and not too covered up like Toni does. For this, we like Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation SPF 15 ($62). Using a bronze color to line her under eye also allows her blue eyes to really pop and take the center stage of her face.

Toni’s long, stick-straight bob also complements her look. Gone are the days of a punk-looking pixy, this style is sophisticated and trendy. The golden color does wonders for her light complexion and also helps to bring out her bright blue eyes.

This is one transformation worthy of an Oscar.
