Suki Waterhouse is having a big moment. While she’s long been a talented model and singer, she’s recently gotten the recognition she deserves following her role on Daisy Jones & The Six. Following the show’s wrap, Waterhouse returned to her music. She just released a corresponding music video for her song “To Love.” The goal was to give Waterhouse an effortless, cool-girl beauty look, and we think they nailed it.
“When I was putting together the creative behind the ‘To Love’ video, I knew I wanted to have a red lip. It holds a kind of feminine power and reflects the passion which the song embodies,” says Waterhouse. She teamed up with Sofia Tilbury to achieve the desired look.
“Sofia perfectly captured the energy and mood I wanted the video and song to convey when creating this effortless, nostalgic look finished off with the perfect red lip,” says Waterhouse. Tilbury says they wanted “flawless, but barely-there skin, lightly contoured eyes with a delicate feline flick and fluttering lashes, and a 70s-inspired vinyl red lip.”
The statement moment of the look is for sure the bold red lip. “We finished with a rock chick red on the lips—super sharp and defined, with a juicy, kissable finish from the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick formula in So Red ($35),” shares Tilbury. Other makeup included “Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer ($33) only where needed, and followed with the faintest touch of contour and a pop of the Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand ($42) high on the cheeks for that love-blushed effect. The eyes were subtle, with muted brown tones to match the rose-tinted aesthetic.”
