Simone Biles is officially a member of the bob club. The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist formally debuted her chic new short haircut at the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 20. The look is quite the transformation from the long hair and blonde highlights she sported earlier this week, but there’s no denying the change is absolutely stunning—and might just be the nudge you need to book that haircut you’ve been considering (we’re definitely tempted).

Celebrity hairstylist Justin Revenge was the mastermind behind Biles’ CMA hair, describing the look as “voluminous ’90s glam” in an Instagram post. The sleek bob featured a deep side part and soft, polished waves. For her makeup, artist Deja Blackwell created an equally flawless glam look that perfectly complemented the hairstyle. Both artists shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of Biles’ red carpet-ready style, which we’ve included below for your viewing pleasure.

Biles’ bob comes just days after Kendall Jenner unveiled her own, shared in a series of black-and-white editorial shots by the iconic Mert Alas. This fall, the bob is having a major moment, with stars like Natalie Portman, Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian all embracing the cut. And according to hairstylists, this trend was entirely predicted. Wes Sharpton, Hairstory Pro and educator, previously told NewBeauty that the bob would dominate this season. “I think the most popular trend that we’re going to see for fall is shorter haircuts with stronger lines,” he shared. “We’ve had longer, shaggy, softer shapes for a while now, so I think the pendulum will swing the opposite way and shift to more bobs and a lot of very short hair.”
