For years—12 to be exact—Rodan + Fields’ Redefine Regimen has been an anti-aging cornerstone in countless skin-care regimens—it’s also been a best-seller for R+F since it launched. Now, the science-first brand is unveiling a new and improved Redefine Regimen, complete with the ability to perfectly customize it to your specific skin type and needs.

Known as the Redefine Regimen for The Appearance of Fine Lines, Wrinkles + Loss of Firmness, the three-step routine works to “smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles, improve texture, refine pores and visibly plump, lift and sculpt the skin.”

Based on the feedback the brand received from customers, along with research on the skin needs of differing genders, ages and ethnicities, “the brand saw gaps and opportunities within the Redefine Collection,” reads a release. The result: new textures, upgraded hero products, regarched actives and, as the brand promises, better results.

While the regimen will still follow its classic three-step process, users will now be able to select between products to customize their routine.

Step One: Cleanse
Choose between an improved version of the kaolin clay–infused Redefine Daily Clay Cleanser ($45)—now featuring ectoin and glyceryl glucoside to lessen the look of wrinkles—or the brand-new Redefine Daily Foaming Cleanser ($45), which trades oil-busting clay for softening alphahydroxy acids for a gentle exfoliation.

Step Two: Tone
An entirely reformulated Redefine Pore Refining Toner ($50) remains the sole toning step, featuring a combination of vitamin B3 (aka niacinamide), fruit acids and mineral-rich deep sea water for some serious pore-refining, texture-evening power.

Step Three (Morning): Protect
Sunscreen is a non-negotiable in any routine, but especially when minimizing lines and wrinkles is priority number-one. Depending on your skin type and preference, you can now choose between two formulas. The rich Redefine Triple Defense Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($90) is still infused with the brand’s potent RF3 Antioxidant Complex but now spiked with improved peptides and grape and beet extracts to visibly plump skin.

If your skin doesn’t tolerate rich creams well throughout the day, the new lightweight Redefine Triple Defense Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($90) still packs a punch—it calls on the same supercharged ingredients as the original Triple Defense Cream—but in a lighter lotion texture, perfect for oily or blemish-prone skin types.

Step Three (Evening): Hydrate
Drs. Rodan and Fields couldn’t create a regimen without a show-stopping night cream. Fans of the original Redefine Overnight Moisturizing Cream ($90) will love the entirely reformulated version, which calls on plumping peptides, radiance-boosting niacinamide and glycolic acid, plus retinol alternative bakuchiol, which New York dermatologist Rita Linkner, MD says is a great wrinkle-ironing option for those who can’t tolerate retinol.

If your skin-care routine wouldn’t be complete without retinol on the other hand, opt for the new Redefine Overnight Reparative Lotion ($90), which features a lighter texture and heavy-hitting retinol for all of the wrinkle-busting results without any heaviness.

The new-and-improved Redefine Regimen is available beginning November 1 on RodanandFields.com, but the brand has been collecting data for some time now. After eight weeks, 94 percent of users saw softer, more supple skin; 91 percent noticed former skin; 85 percent had plumper, fuller-looking skin, and 79 percent noticed less visible lines and wrinkles. Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss this roll-out.
