First time Tony Awards nominee Nicole Scherzinger won Broadway’s biggest night in more ways than one. Scherzinger took home the Tony for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for role as Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd (which also won for Best Musical Revival), thanking her peers “for making this little Hawaiian Ukrainian Filipino girl’s dream come true.”
Before her tear-inducing acceptance speech, Scherzinger had already won for most bedazzling look of the night in our hearts, walking the red carpet at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in a custom crimson Rodarte gown that practically dripped in sparkles. To complement the striking fashion (punctuated by dozens of diamonds), makeup artist Rokael Lizama paired the glamorous look with a rosy smokey eye and a matte red lip lined to perfection.
“Rokael created a dreamy, soft look – smokey eyes using nudes, hints of pink on my cheeks, and red glimmering lips as an homage to Sunset BLVD! I wanted to keep it soft and clean for tonight’s look,” Scherzinger said when asked of her makeup.
Cue my (humbling) surprise when I found out Scherzinger’s makeup was all courtesy of Revlon, a classic drugstore brand. Scherzinger’s red lip, specifically, was created with Revlon ColorStay Limitless Matte in 010 Top Talent ($14), a vivid scarlet liquid lipstick, and Super Lustrous Glimmer Lip Oil in 009 Boiling Point ($10.50).
If you love Scherzinger’s rosy lids you’ll need Revlon ColorStay Day To Night Eyeshadow Quad in Decadent ($7). To copy her dark, full brows and dramatic lashes, grab the ColorStay Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown ($12) and ColorStay Full Time Mascara in Blackest Black ($10).
