Equal parts smart and cheeky, Lauryn Bosstick dreams outside the box when it comes to her beauty brand The Skinny Confidential (TSC). Here, the founder, podcast host, author and mom of two gives us an inside look at her personal product stash.
Facial Fix
“I discovered the Intraceuticals Hyaluronic Layering System through my facialist Staci Christie, who I see when I’m in San Diego. She is in her 60s and has the most beautiful skin I’ve seen. After my most recent facial with her, I noticed my skin stayed glassy for hours and hours. She told me it was because of the Intraceuticals, so I bought it immediately. The products are really amazing if you love skin care.”
Mouth Off
“Since having corrective double jaw surgery, I read Shut Your Mouth and Save Your Life and other books, and talked to neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman on my podcast, ‘The HIM & HER Show.’ I became intrigued by mouth taping and had to try it. After a few weeks, my energy was through the roof. After two months, I saw a big difference in my face and my jaw was more defined. Being a mom of two young kids and running a business can wipe me out, so waking up with more energy was life-changing. We decided to create our own Skinny Confidential Mouth Tape, and the launch was surreal. We sold out three times in the blink of an eye and had a 20,000-person wait list.”
Everything Shower
“Before I shower, I dry brush with my TSC Butter Brush. I’ve been doing this since 2014 and it’s so invigorating and the best way to exfoliate. In the shower, I hang eucalyptus. It’s such an easy, lazy-girl way to create a spa-like experience. Eucalyptus can help reduce stress, open sinuses and provide clarity. It’s the best at night. I also love PMD’s Clean Body device.
When I get out of the shower, I usually use Agent Nateur’s Holi Body Serum. It has clean ingredients and doesn’t give you that oily feeling. Then I use our TSC Le Spoon Body Sculptor, making quick, short strokes from my feet all the way up to my neck. Since I’ve been doing this, my cellulite has almost disappeared.”
Skin Savant
“SkinCeuticals makes solid products. I use them with my Korean skin care, and together, they work wonders. One of my favorite Korean brands is Dermafirm. Hyperpigmentation is an issue for me, so I love the Melavita line. From SkinCeuticals, I use C E Ferulic, Discoloration Defense, and others, and I pat them on—no rubbing.
Agent Nateur’s Ageless Face Serum is magic for redness, fine lines and wrinkles. I need to order more. Then Epicuren’s Colostrum Cream seals in all the goodness. Lastly, SPF. Always remember SPF. Our TSC Caffeinated Sunscreen ticks all the boxes. I’ve been wearing it every day for months, and my god it was worth the wait.”
Holy Grail
“The Skinny Confidential Ice Roller is the holy grail for me. I use it the second I wake up, before I apply makeup, and throughout the day. I’m so puffy, and it instantly de-puffs my face, primes it for skin care, and feels so good. I crave it. It’s a no-brainer after procedures like microneedling, too. I also use it over sheet masks or eye patches. Barefaced and VREA make the best eye patches. You can run the roller under hot water and use it warm on your neck, too. It’s so relaxing.”
Lip Love
“I have lip products everywhere—like 600. The Gisou Lip Oil is amazing because the scent isn’t overwhelming and it makes your lips look like glass skin. It feels fresh. I prefer clean, shiny, clear lips with either no color or a light cherry. Summer Fridays Butter Balm is a really good one after I’ve done my skin-care routine and I’m winding down. I like vanilla and pink sugar.”
Mask + Chill
“Dr. Dennis Gross has the most amazing LED red-light masks. The lip one is like instant filler. It plumps them and makes them feel so smooth. Sometimes I use his masks while I’m meditating with my legs up on the wall. It’s a nice way to chill, but get some preventive skin care in, too.”
