With 2024 fast underway, tons of last year’s trends are already starting to fade away. Whether it’s the rise of “rockstar girlfriend,” messy makeup instead of that barely-there glam or that dramatic, old-Hollywood hair ‘dos in place of slicked-back buns, the tides are changing, and one of the first places we see fads really taking form is on our favorite A-listers.

The beginning of awards season has already set the tone for the year’s beauty trends, and the array of celebrities showing up and showing out at Paris Couture Week is only expanding our minds to the beauty moments of the future. One such celeb making waves in the bold glamour world was Kacey Musgraves, who arrived at the Schiaparelli show rocking a bouffant-style ‘do courtesy of one volumizing root spray.

The Products Behind the Country Star’s Big, Bold Hair

Musgraves’ hairstylist Giovanni Delgado once said, “The ‘clean-girl aesthetic’ has its place and time, but I live for the drama,” and honestly we couldn’t be more here for it. Because of this, when it came to the country star’s Schiaparelli hair, Delgado took a “more-is-more” approach. “I believe that high glamor is always in,” he explains. “I expect and hope more people will lean into the more-is-more aesthetic this year. I think we all would benefit from a little fun and a little fantasy.”

In terms of how Delgado went about styling, he explains that he was “inspired by old photos of Ursula Andress” and also wanted to keep in mind the essence Schiaparelli’s current collection, which is why he landed on a dramatic, bouffant style. “To prep Kacey’s hair, I started with UNITE’s 7SECONDS BlowOut Creme ($32.50) on the midshaft to ends for gorgeous shine and moisture,” Delgado began. “Next, I sprayed BOOSTA Volumizing Spray ($33) at the roots to build mega volume before doing a classic blowout to set the foundation.”

Once the foundation of volume was built, Delgado curled Musgraves’ hair in 1.5 inch sections before applying one of his “favorite products”, the UNITE U Oil ($49.50) for added shine, followed by the MAXCONTROL Spray ($34.50) to “prepare the hair for windy Paris” and 7SECONDS Glossing Spray ($36) for a “long-lasting, glossy, high shine finish.”
