For multitalented actress, singer, dancer and now Broadway star, Julianne Hough, finding moments to relax and take care can be hard to come by. For Hough, dedicating time to wellness and rejuvenation has been something she had to work towards. Luckily for all of us who struggle to find time to unwind, the triple-threat super star sat down with Bustle to spill her secrets for finding Zen within this zany life.
When it comes to taking care of herself, Hough tells Bustle that “skin is my number one priority in all of my wellness rituals.” In curating her self-care routine the star explained that “everything that I do is all about a holistic approach and sensory experience, because your senses are so important and that’s what you create your memories with. It’s so important to me to indulge in the pleasures, in the sensuality, and in the experience of what it feels like to take care of yourself.”
In addition to giving the inside scoop into how she views her wellness habits, Hough also revealed several of her favorite beauty products that keep her refreshed on-stage and off. So, what is the celeb’s “favorite product on the planet?” Hough spilled that her skin-care savior is Carasoin Cold Fusion Intense Moisture ($120). “You don’t need very much at all and it’s a moisturizing, super intense balm that’s so healing for the skin.”
Jules also shared that her go-to lip product for the stage is the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick ($20) in shade Brave, and that her signature scent is courtesy of Ilary Roll-On Perfume ($85). She even shared a sweet anecdote about how she discovered the scent from Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay: “I met [her] at an event seven or eight years ago, and I gave her a hug and said, ‘Oh my gosh, you smell so good—what is that?’ She reached in her bag and goes, ‘Here, you can have it.’ And so I’ve had the fragrance ever since. Now anytime someone smells me and asks what I’m wearing, I get it out and hand it to them too as a little pay-it-forward.”
In the midst of all of our crazy lives, it can be hard to find time to honor ourselves. But, Julianne Hough is here to show us that it truly is about the little things. If the Broadway actress can take a moment to relax while doing eight shows a week, so can we.
