ILIA runs the gamut from featherlight skin-care formulas to richly pigmented multi-use makeup that celebrities, beauty editors and shoppers are all equally obsessed with. Continuing their streak of dominating the skin-care-meets-makeup category, ILIA just launched the Skin Rewind Complexion Stick ($48). Its groundbreaking formula isn’t a foundation and it’s not a concealer, but it’ll replace both in your beauty regimen.

What is ILIA’s new Skin Rewind Complexion Stick?

Fusing weightless, buildable coverage with powerful firming and skin-smoothing ingredients, the Skin Rewind Complexion Stick melts into skin for a crease-proof, natural matte finish that stays seamless for up to 12 hours. And while it genuinely looks like second skin, the medium-coverage formula packs a punch to blur pores, redness, dark spots and blemishes.

Like so many ILIA products, this new launch gets the celebrity seal of approval. This Is Us star Mandy Moore took to her Instagram Stories to share she’s “very into” the complexion stick.

What are its key ingredients?

Three potent anti-aging ingredients make this complexion stick stand out from the rest. A ceramide-peptide complex reinforces the skin barrier and firms the look of skin. Butterfly lavender extract doesn’t just sound ultra-soothing—the botanical powerhouse visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Winged kelp extract rounds out the formula by acting as a skin protector that further reverses signs of aging. Over time, each swipe of the Skin Rewind Complexion Stick visibly softens lines and wrinkles, increases skin elasticity and restores luminosity for a youthful, lifted look.

How do I use it?

ILIA does multi-use makeup like no other, and their newest product is another streamlined savior. Use the Skin Rewind Complexion Stick to conceal small areas. Use your fingers or a brush to pick up product, then pat in to blur smaller imperfections. For all-over coverage, swipe the stick directly on skin and use your fingers or a complexion brush to cover. To contour, use a shade one-to-two shades darker than your skin tone and blend along the nose, cheeks and jawline.

Editor’s review

NewBeauty’s executive editor, Liz Ritter, tests hundreds of beauty products a month. When I asked her what she thought about ILIA’s newest launch, she reported: “These are a no-brainer option if you don’t like wearing a foundation. They are perfect for under-eye covering and just some fast, mid-day help. I love that they come in a stick form—so you can swipe and get on with life.”
