Though you may be familiar with her striking looks and undeniable talent, what many don’t know is that Clarke is also an avid beauty and skin-care lover; she is even a global brand ambassador for Clinique. Never one to shy away from a new makeup trend or experiment with a new look, Clarke told Harpers Bazaar this week that, regardless of where her life takes her, this is the one skin-care step she’s never skipped through it all.
“The first thing I do when I get in is take my make-up off, even when I’m blacked out drunk,” Clarke explains when asked what her non-negotiable skin-care step is. “It’s something I’ve been doing twice a day, every day, since I was 13,” she continues, “it’s like brushing your teeth or having breakfast.”
Aside from never forgetting to go to bed with a clean face, Clarke also let readers in on the fact that her sensitive skin “goes through cycles” depending on her schedule. “It’s currently having a hissy fit as I’ve been working for 18 months non-stop and I had different people putting different things on my face,” she explains. “So, right now, I’m in a very stripped-back phase using just the bare basics of what I need.” For the Game of Thrones star, that consists of tried-and-true, no-nonsense products like Clinque’s All About Clean Liquid Cleanser ($23) as well as the brand’s Clarifying Lotion 2 ($32) and Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ($30)
