“It’s just another Manic Monday” takes on some new meaning when it’s the night of the Emmys. Who will win, what will the celebs be wear, what can’t-look-away moments will go viral, and—our personal favorite—which skin care, makeup, hair and body items will make the all-important prep step?
As of this morning, we already know a big one, and it hits the always-popular facial tool category. According the brand, celeb makeup artists Jamie Greenberg and Kristin Hilton will be using the TheraFace Pro on nominees Kaley Cuoco’s and Connie Britton’s skin, respectively.
If you’re not familiar with the tool, it’s the 8-in-1 facial device tool is a close cousin to the popular body-focused, percussive device of the Theragun, originally designed to “enhance muscle recovery, release stress and tension, and soothe discomfort.” The massaging Face version uses that same idea and technology to help alleviate tension in the facial muscles, but adds in skin-toning microcurrent, various LED light therapy, a super-easy-to-use (but sometimes hard-to-remember) cleansing attachment and a hot-cool cryotherapy add-on that helps with puffiness and inflammation.
“We’ve got 22 studies about what percussive therapy does for the body, but it’s sort of crazy that we ignore the face,” Dr. Jason Wersland, founder and CWO of Therabody, told us in an interview earlier this year. “We wanted to be able to use something that addressed all of the same things on our face as our body—we wanted to start thinking about the shoulders-upwards and how we could help people take care of their face. This isn’t about beauty, it’s about facial health.”
