Tonight’s 97th Academy Awards gave us all the glitz and glamour we were hoping for and more. From one-of-a-kind couture gowns to shiny, voluminous, Old-Hollywood waves, this year’s beauty and fashion did not disappoint. Beautiful blush has been a staple on the red carpet for decades, but tonight, one specific cream blush took center stage. CHANEL Joues Contraste Intense Cream-to-Powder Blush ($55) donned the cheeks (and some other places) of four A-listers.
A gorgeous, velvety formula, the blush is made with an exclusive, patented formulation technique. This ensures it delivers “maximum color saturation, while wet pigments yield rich shades for a long-wearing result.” It comes in five shades, blends into the skin the seamlessly and is buildable for a bolder look.
The Celebs Who Wore This Cream Blush
Halle Berry‘s metallic, mirrored Siriano gown and radiant glam were giving modern-day Bond vibes with a hint of vintage. The actress wore CHANEL Joues Contraste Intense Cream-to-Powder Blush in Grenat Profond, a rich berry hue, on both her cheeks and in the crease of her eyelids. To make the blush pop even more, a bit of Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed Powder in Deep Mauve was added to the look.
Lupita Nyong’o also wore the Joues Contraste Blush in shade Grenat Profond, which she paired with mint-green eyeshadow and a juicy berry lip. A former Oscar winner herself, the actress’s vibrant makeup was the perfect complement to her white CHANEL Haute Couture gown, which featured more than 20,000 pearls.
The Substance actress Margaret Qualley, a presenter tonight, wore “a hint of” CHANEL Joues Contraste Intense Cream-to-Powder Blush in the shade Rose Radiant, a soft, warm rose. Placing it just on the apples of her cheeks gave her “a flushed, fresh-faced look.” Actress Emily Mortimer also donned this blush, but in the shade Beige Éclatant, a soft beige that lends a subtle glow. It was the perfect pick for her black Rodarte dress and natural-looking glam.
