What ARE Those Things Under Kate Hudson's Eyes?
By Elise Minton Tabin |
Celebrities are privy to the best of the best when it comes to anti-aging treatments. And one star that pulls out all the stops is Kate Hudson. The 37-year-old mother of two, who isn’t showing the faintest signs of aging quite yet, is taking precautions and treating her eyes with electro shock under-eye patches on her Snapchat account.
While driving in her car, Hudson filmed herself with her patches on, which are two white pads that are connected to a wire that goes behind the ears and attaches to a small device.

The patches may look more strange than beneficial, but our sources say that treatments like these can, over time, help to tighten lines and wrinkles and stimulate collagen production for softer, smoother, younger-looking skin.
In an interview with People StyleWatch, New York dermatologist Jessica Weiser, M.D Says "
“The product is an electric eye patch, which usually contains a combination of hyaluronic acid and collagen gels, among other ingredients. The patch is applied to the skin and then connected to an electrode to deliver heat energy to the underlying tissues and provide feedback to the device regarding skin temperature. This precise temperature modulation can stimulate the epidermis and dermis, and some believe even the subcutaneous tissue layer. These electric eye patches are thought to stimulate collagen production, increase cell turnover and renewal, diminish the appearance of fine lines and reduce skin laxity to tighten the treated skin.”
While we don't know the exact brand that Hudson is wearing, we do know that Wrinkle MD ($199) makes patches that look almost identical to the ones in the photo.
Devices like this may sound and look a little scary, but there’s no data out there that proves they are harmful or unsafe.
