Every year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons releases a report that goes beyond simple procedure counts and offers a window into what patients actually sought over the past year, and why. This year’s data makes it clear that a viral trend or single celebrity-inspired request didn't shape 2025. Instead, the influence of GLP-1s and the shift toward natural-looking results are clear when looking at the top five plastic surgeries of 2025.
Liposuction
For the fifth consecutive year, liposuction remained the nation’s most popular procedure. With 317,196 procedures performed, liposuction did not see significant year-over-year growth but instead maintained its enduring popularity. The report notes that liposuction was often a complementary procedure alongside other surgeries like lifts.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentations, whether increasing the size or changing the shape of the breast through implants, ranked second, maintaining its spot as one of the country’s most-turned-to procedures. Breast augmentation and implant revision procedures combined totaled 304,234, up 11 percent year-over-year. However, the goal of the procedure may be shifting. According to the report, plastic surgeons say patients are increasingly choosing moderate, proportionate implants that complement their body type.
Abdominoplasty
Plastic surgeons suggest that as more people achieve significant weight loss with the use of GLP-1s, many look to body contouring procedures like abdominoplasties, colloquially known as a tummy tuck. However, demand remained pretty consistent from the previous year, with only a two percent increase to 173,251 procedures.
Breast Lift
With 156,131 procedures documented, breast lifts rank fourth. A breast lift can be performed alone without changing breast size or combined with an augmentation for a total revamp. Experts note that lifts are especially popular for restoring breasts after pregnancy, weight loss and aging.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty procedures saw significant growth in 2025, climbing nearly 19 percent year-over-year. This increased interest shot the eyelid surgery to the top, making it the most popular facial surgery of the year with 118,978 procedures.
