The unofficial start of summer is already next weekend and with it comes the season of much-anticipated summer-movie releases. First up next Friday, May 26: The premiere of the heartwarming and hilarious About My Father, starring the legendary Robert De Niro, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, Leslie Bibb and Kim Cattrall. We recently caught up with Cattrall, who gave us some insight into filming this family tale during the pandemic, and what she counts as must-haves in the beauty holy-grail department.

What was the most rewarding thing about working on this film?
“We filmed About My Father in September 2021 when the pandemic was still raging. We stayed in our protective bubble and didn’t see anyone outside cast and crew. No one wanted to take a chance of getting ill and delaying production. Our set was family.”

“Sun protection! Sun protection! Sun protection!

“Dove Bar Soap for Sensitive Skin ($1).”
What are some of your go-to self-care rituals after work?
“A cool shower. A cup of tea. A good book.”

“I love walking the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park. Open all year and beautiful.”
