The world’s largest independent dermatology company, Galderma, just announced that it has acquired Alastin, the fastest-growing U.S.-based professional skin-care brand in 2020. Alastin was founded in 2015 and has a large portfolio of clinically tested products for both daily regimens and peri-procedural use.
Per a statement from Galderma, “ALASTIN’s premium skincare portfolio is fully incremental to and synergistic with Galderma’s integrated dermatology platform.” The partnership will bridge Galderma’s aesthetics and consumer care divisions, Galderma chief executive Flemming Ornskov said in the statement. He added that the companies have previously collaborated around fillers and anti-aging injections.
“This transaction will further enhance our premium product offering and provides a tremendous platform for future growth,” said Ornskov. “We look forward to welcoming the ALASTIN team into Galderma and partnering with them to advance the science of dermatology together.”
As a Swiss-based company, this is Galderma’s first U.S. acquisition and will further cement their presence in the country. Per Reuters, Ornskov said Galderma "scouts every corner of the world" for acquisitions.
