Before there was "Becky With the Good Hair," there was "Topanga With the Great Hair," a role played both on screen and off by the one and only Danielle Fishel. Two-plus decades after Boy Meets World, Fishel has spent the past several years building Be Free by Danielle Fishel into a hair-care line with a specific philosophy based on clean, botanical formulas built around argan oil.
Now, that philosophy is going beyond the scalp. This August, Be Free is expanding into argan oil anti-aging total body care with the aptly named Be Ageless Golden Argan Oil Body Care Collection, a two-product launch consisting of a body serum and a body butter. Both were formulated by Fishel herself over the past 12-plus months, and both will launch exclusively on QVC with a value offer on two-packs, starting August 21.
Argan oil has anchored the hair-care side of the brand from the beginning, and it’s the ingredient driving the shift into something bigger. “I’ve been using argan oil on my face for years so I know how immensely hydrating it is and am so excited to bring this anti-aging body serum and body butter to QVC for everyone to benefit from,” Fishel says.
The timing traces back to 2025, when a breast cancer scare sharpened her attention to exactly what she was putting on her skin. Months later she said yes to Dancing With the Stars, a commitment that meant showing more skin—on live television, to millions of viewers a week—than she ever had before. “Doing DWTS last season forced me to get real comfortable real fast with showing more of my body than I ever have before,” she says. “Since starting Be Free by Danielle Fishel I’ve paid a lot of attention to the ingredients in my hair care, but other than face wash, we hadn’t branched out into clean body care.” The two experiences, back-to-back, are what turned a hair-care brand’s eventual body-care line into this fall’s actual launch.
Getting there took a year of formulation work, and Fishel was specific about what each product needed to do. “Our goal with everything we develop is the best possible ingredients for the highest performing product we can create for the absolute best value,” she says. “We spent 12 months to find the perfect formulation for this body serum and body butter. I wanted a serum that absorbed quickly into the skin and acts as a primer of sorts for the super thick and luxurious body butter. I wanted the body butter to be so thick you could tip it over and it wouldn’t budge.” The result, she says, has already outgrown the launch: “I’m so in love with these two products and they’ve quickly become non-negotiables in my daily routine.”
As for where the brand goes from here, Fishel isn’t ruling out more expansion beyond hair. “Never say never!” she says. “Be Free by Danielle Fishel has always been a passion project fueled by the products I personally look for and use on a regular basis. I feel like if I have the need for a product, other people probably do, too. We’re always looking for feedback and taking suggestions for what people want to see from us next and I think a body wash would be a great next step.”
