From their endlessly vast selection of beauty products to their classic black and white aesthetic, we all look forward to a Sephora trip. For members of the store's perks program—Sephora's Beauty Insiders—our favorite time to hit the store is during our birthday months as a result of their beloved free birthday gifts. But, the store just announced that with a new update to company policies, they are doing away with the famously free birthday goodies.
Anyone who is part of the Sephora Beauty Insider program knows that your birth month is an exciting time of year as it means you've earned your free birthday gift from the store, in the form of everything from luxury perfume samples to full-sized beauty products. The best part of this Insider perk, of course, has always been that you could snag your gift with no purchase necessary, in store and online. But, this past Monday, the retailer announced in an email that shoppers will now "need to make a minimum merchandise purchase of $25 to redeem their Beauty Insider birthday gift at sephora.com and sephora.ca."
Don't fret too much, though: loyalty members can still get their birthday goodies for free so long as they visit an in-store location. The change to the store's policy only effects online purchases, as it will now require shoppers to make a $25 purchase in order to have their birthday reward shipped to them. To the mall we go, it seems!
