Pamela Anderson has always been somewhat of a renegade. At 56, the star has shifted to a completely different kind of rebellion than that of her rock-and-roll past. Anderson has recently found the beauty and freedom of leaning into her natural beauty and going to high-profile events with no makeup, like Paris Fashion Week, for example.
During an interview with i-D, Anderson reveals that her biggest beauty secret these days is to do nothing. “Whatever is happening is just happening. It’s all about self-acceptance,” says Anderson. “This is the chapter of my life I’m trying to embrace now.” Anderson knows it can be challenging when she walks out the door as her authentic, natural self, but it feels as though a weight is off her shoulders, and she prefers it over wearing makeup now.
“Sometimes it’s challenging, and you just have to embrace that you’re good enough and that you’re beautiful,” says Anderson. “I like to say the word life-ing instead of aging. Chasing youth is just futile. You’re never going to get there, so why not just embrace what’s going on?” Anderson even shared some gorgeous photos of her week in France with the caption, “An adventure in Paris with fresh eyes…There is beauty in self-acceptance, imperfection and love.”
Anderson’s bold choice is being celebrated by female celebrities as they cheer her on. “The natural beauty revolution has officially begun,” wrote Jamie Lee Curtis below her Instagram post with two photos of Anderson. “In the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures…this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.”
Other stars chimed in with words of support in Curtis’ comments. “That’s pretty iconic,” writes Chelsea Handler. Selma Blair adds, “Love this. Beautiful self-assuredness.” Alyssa Milano and Kyle Richards also comment on how beautiful Anderson looks.
