Miley Cyrus is practically a human Pinterest board when it comes to tattoo inspiration. The singer has over 50 tattoos on her body so far, including a rose on the back of her left arm that she got in 2019 after her split from Liam Hemsworth. She also has a portrait of her late dog, Floyd, on her left ribcage. The singer has been building up her collection for over a decade now, and she just added a new one to the mix earlier this week.

According to a recent Instagram post from Michelle Santana, a tattoo artist at Bang Bang in New York City, the singer stopped by the tattoo shop while visiting the city and left with some new ink. In a photo, the 32-year-old singer is seen with her hair pulled up into a messy bun with a small new tattoo of the word “Muse” written in cursive on her right shoulder. “👑Queen @mileycyrus 👑 🙏🏽grateful to have met such a G✨,” Santana captioned the photo. She also shared a few behind-the-scenes photos of her drawing the tattoo on Cyrus.

Cyrus spoke briefly about all of her tattoos in a recent interview with the New York Times. In a video shared to the brand’s TikTok, she discusses her tattoo regrets and admits there are a few she could have held off on getting, like the tattoos of her pets.

“I don’t regret them enough to laser them, but some of them…like I love my cat, but I didn’t need that,” she said. “I love my dog, but like, I don’t know, just having a pitbull in every picture for the rest of my life is kind of intense. There’s just a few I could do without.”

Cyrus has yet to reveal what the inspiration behind her new tattoo is, though some people think it’s a dedication to her mom, Tish Cyrus, whom she’s called her muse before. Back in April, she shared a video of her giving a private performance of her song, “End of the World,” before it was released, noting that her mother is the one who inspired the track.

“The secret of a song before it’s released is such a sacred time,” she wrote in the caption. “I am honored today to have it out in the world, hopefully bringing some joy, but on this night, I was singing only to the person I wrote it for. My muse, my mom.”
