The most notable plot point in the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 premiere was not a scathing infidelity revelation that was revealed on premiere night, but rather the debut of star Jennifer Aydin’s new nose and jawline. Before the one-hour show had ended, the Bravo blogs were ablaze withe commentary about her new look and a rhinoplasty result that gave the star a whole new look—one that many call “sloped.”

Many fans wondered why her husband, Paramus, NJ plastic surgeon Bill Aydin, did not perform the facial surgery. Others commented on the fact that the star traveled overseas to Turkey to see Dr. Mustafa Ali Yanik, a surgeon says she found on Instagram to do her rhinoplasty, face liposuction and chin enhancement procedures. To address the speculation head on, Aydin immediately took to Instagram following the season premiere to clear up rumors about her dramatic results.

“I’m totally aware of the criticism some of you may have after you see my face tonight,” wrote Aydin, who admitted to Page Six that the results do look “wackadoo” on screen. “I had them too! Keep in mind that it was exactly 4 weeks after the date of my surgery. My face was still swollen and numb and it was hard to move, speak or smile. My surgery was already planned from way before I got the news of when filming was to start. And even though I was nervous on some of the backlash that may happen and I had no idea how whack I would look on camera, I remembered that I signed up to show my life. All aspects of it.” While she says her nose has settled and she’s happy with it, Aydin does admit that she did not like the result of her chin augmentation and had her chin implant removed recently by a plastic surgeon in New Jersey.

One of the criticisms circulating around Jennifer’s new look is that she found her original doctor on Instagram, implying that she did not do her research ahead of time. In a response to a comment online, Aydin clarified that she did more than just social media shop for her surgeon, she took the time to vet him and meet him virtually prior to her procedure.

“He wasn’t random,” Aydin shared online. “I was in contact with him for over a year communicating through FaceTime and through mutual friends and Bill vowed never to do surgery on me after my tummy tuck. And Bill’s specialty is the body. You only get one sentence answers in the edit. Check out this guys page- if you don’t like the nose, take it up with him.”
