When he first meets his patients, Dr. Husam Almunajed wants to know what they dream about and what ambitious plans they have for their own futures. “What is it about some people that makes them so attractive? Is it the sparkle in their eye or the smoothness of their skin,” he asks. “More than likely, it’s their brilliant smile that first draws you in, as our smiles affect the look and shape of our faces.” He believes a beautiful smile is your best asset for good first impressions: “This very special form of nonverbal communication can display much more intense emotions than only words. Each smile is unique and beautiful smiles should suit the face and character of each particular patient,” he says. Just as a successful architect takes various aspects into consideration when designing a building, Dr. Almunajed focuses not only on form and function, but also on the personality, occupation and lifestyle of each of his patients. “The smile is a reflection of that individual,” he adds.

The thing I love most is the ability to create. It really is such a pleasure to have the patient pool in my practice and the ability to recreate the way someone looks by crafting a new smile. Most people don’t understand how much your smile controls the overall appearance of their face, but when they do—it’s a very powerful thing. Working with patients in this unique way allows my artistic side to take over and puts me in a very calm, enjoyable space
