Julia Garner just took home the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her iconic role as Ruth in Ozark tonight, but her larger-than-life on-screen personality isn’t all she’s known for. To pair with Garner’s custom Gucci down, Eliot says the duo went for an effortless look that would also play off the structured silhouette of the dress for tonight’s Emmy Awards. “Julia’s hair has the most incredible natural texture, which was the inspiration for the look,” says Eliot.
As for the secret behind those standout curls, Eliot says it’s all about technique: “The secret to Julia’s curls is to let the natural curl pattern do its thing and not force it anyway it doesn’t want to go,” he says. “Also, the secret is to not touch the hair when you’re diffusing!”
