The Treatment Oil You'll Go Nuts For

Argan oil has been a hot topic over the last five years. Especially over the last two-making standout appearances in a number of products across all types of beauty brands due to its antioxidant-rich skin and hair enhancing benefits. But the reign of this oil, harvested from the nut of the Argan tree in Morocco, might be coming to an end, or so says NewBeauty at Fred Segal store director Mathew Aguilar. Apparently, there's a new nut in (beauty) town.
What's the next greatest trend in oils? Marula oil. Painstakingly extracted, this rare oil is cold-pressed from wild and harvested, individually selected Marula nuts in East Africa to produce an omega- and antioxidant-rich oil that does wonders to hydrate your skin and hair. "This oil actually contains higher levels of antioxidants than Argan oil," says Aguilar. "It's also a purer oil as most beauty companies making Argan oil press the entire nut and shell, while only the nut of the Marula is pressed, so you're getting it in its purest form."
Where can you find it? NewBeauty at Fred Segal Santa Monica is the first location in the country to have Marula ($64) by The Leakey Collection. Great for all skin types, this oil applied morning and night will moisturize your skin, increase elasticity and firmness, and provide superior protection against environmental stressors and damaging free radicals, which lead to the signs of premature aging.
