While many people may at first recognize her from her soccer-superstar last name, Victoria Beckham has been building her own fashion and beauty empire outside of her famous husband for decades. Starting her career in the 1990s as the iconic Posh Spice in the British girl group, The Spice Girls, Beckham established herself as an authority on all things luxury and beauty from day one.

In the years that followed her breakout music career, Beckham went on to wed soccer legend David Beckham, create her own fashion label, give birth to three beautiful children and, most recently, launch her own makeup empire, so it’s safe to say that the United Kingdom-native has been busy.

Believe it or not—we had to take a double take on the year after looking at her ageless complexion—today marks Victoria’s 50th birthday. To celebrate, we rounded up some of the tried-and-true beauty advice she’s shared over the years for anyone hoping to age just like Posh Spice herself.

Victoria Beckham’s Best Beauty Advice

Have an expert-backed skin-care routine

As we all know, the secret to aging gracefully is nailing a skin-care routine early on, and Beckham’s tried-and-true regimen consists of dermatologist-backed formulas and, when necessary, leaving certain steps to the professionals. Earlier this year, Beckham shared via Instagram that her three-step skin-care routine is simple but effective. She swears by her brand’s Victoria Beckham by Augustinus Bader Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum ($210) and Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer ($150), both of which were created back in 2020 alongside skin-care expert Dr. Augustinus Bader.

In addition to efficacious products, Beckham also has a lineup of skin-care tools she uses to keep her complexion in tip top shape. Also shared via Instagram, Beckham uses an LED lamp under both red and blue light settings to help stimulate collagen production, reduce inflammation and kill bacteria. Another key to Beckham’s ageless complexion is knowing when to leave certain skin-care practices to the professionals, as she utilizes masks specially curated for her by celebrity facialist Melanie Grant, and swears by the smoothing benefits of dermaplaning, but leaves that in Grant’s hands too.

Focus on hair care

Back in 2017 in an interview with Into the Gloss, Beckham said, “I’m better at doing my own makeup than my own hair, which is why half the time it’s just scraped up or off my face into a bun.” But, the former Spice Girl has still made a point of ensuring her hair-care routine keeps her strands on their A game. “I get my hair color done in LA, and then I bring packets of hair color over to the UK and have someone put it on here when I need it,” she explains. “The water is very hard in London and so it’s quite difficult to hang onto a nice, rich color. I use a lot of glosses as well, and the water can absolutely strip it. But then, you go to LA and the sun strips it.”

To combat the damage put forth by coloring, sun and hard water, Beckham told the outlet that she tends to opt for a hat throughout the summer, and has created a lineup of hair-health products that she uses on her own, too, including Oribe’s Shampoo and Conditioner and the prescription hair-growth product, Latisse.

“A lot of people outside of America may not have heard of this—it’s a prescription product that stimulates hair growth,” she explains in regards to Latisse. “When you buy it, you get a bunch of these little brushes to go with the drops. I will use it along bottom part of my lashes and the top–you have to make sure you don’t get it in your eye because you can get brown spots that way. I’ll use a generous amount on my eyebrows as well, and my brows have completely grown back. I have gone through phases where I’ve stopped using it, and I noticed a big difference. Anastasia Soare actually recommended it to me.”

Make time for self care before bed

As a mother and business owner, Beckham doesn’t exactly have a ton of free time on her hands, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t at least try to clear out some moments for self care amidst the chaos. “Epsom salts are good in a bath. Most of the time, I usually shower because I don’t have the time to take a bath,” she told Into the Gloss. “I’ve got a really nice, big, stone bath in my bathroom. I’m really comfortable in it, but I never have to the time to be honest with you. If I can get in bed at a reasonable time, once all the children are in bed, and I’ve put a face mask on and I’m reading my Kindle, that’s a luxury for me.”

Body care is key

In the pursuit of graceful aging, body care is just as important as skin care and hair care, and Beckham has let fans in on her body care routine quite a few times. Back in 2023, she reiterated to Harper’s Bazaar her love of Epsom salt baths, and also noted Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil ($52) as a favorite for following up her wind-down bath routine, explaining that she “uses it on damp skin to lock in moisture.”

Our hands are often one of the first places to show our age, but Beckham has always taken good care of her extremities, contributing to her ageless radiance. “I love Weleda Skin Food ($20),” she told Harper’s Bazaar, “I use it on my hands morning and night.”

Prioritize fitness and sleep

Beauty is full body, and Beckham knows that creating healthy habits for the full being is key. During her 2023 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Beckham revealed, “I usually workout every morning prior to beginning my day and recently incorporated strength training into my routine which has been a fun way to switch up my regime. When I want to sneak a workout in and I’m low on time, I love wearing the Bala Bangles wrist and ankle weights ($55): They’re a sneaky way to feel that burn in a short amount of time.”

She also considers healthy sleep habits to be one of if not her biggest piece of self-care advice. “Creating healthy sleep habits is incredibly important,” she told the outlet, “it’s become a key part of my self-care practice. I’ve been working on incorporating less screen time and more mindfulness into my routine, which means putting my phone away before bedtime. I also like to keep crystals on my nightstand for extra clarity.”
