If there’s one thing most of us have in common, it’s that if we were given advice that would help our skin to glow like Victoria Beckham’s we’re going to listen. The 49-year-old singer, fashion designer, brand-owner, mother and more leads quite a busy lifestyle, but always manages to stay looking her best, thanks in large part to her expert facialist Melanie Grant.

Lucky for us, though, Grant is not one to keep her skin-care masteries on the DL, and has actually divulged quite a few of her tips in tricks through both the “Skin School” section of her website and through her book The Modern Guide to Skin Health, which Beckham herself wrote the preface for. Grant’s wealth of skin-care knowledge is extensive, but if you’re looking for a few surefire pieces of advice to up your skin-care game, here’s what the Los Angeles-based facialist believes is the only beauty tool you really need.

Grant’s Holy-Grail Beauty Tool

The market for beauty tools seems to be endlessly expanding, to a point where it can be hard to navigate. But, for Grant, if there’s one beauty tool you should keep on hand, it’s an LED light therapy mask. Grant loves LED masks as they “help boost collagen synthesis, hydration, heal the skin, diminish imperfections,” and “work wonders on all skin types and issues.”

If you’re looking to invest in an LED mask yourself, Grant explains that there are a few key differences when it comes to the different LED therapies that consumers should keep in mind in regards to best treating one’s specific skin concerns. “Red light increases cellular energy to accelerate repair and renewal, stimulate collagen synthesis, increase hydration, and improve circulation to reverse damage. Red light is ideal for restoring skin vitality and radiance,” she explains, “White light targets deeper cells to trigger the healing process, calm redness and irritation, reduce pigmentation, and promote skin health. I like to combine it with red light for rejuvenating effects. Blue light destroys acne-causing bacteria and improves skin clarity while soothing and reducing skin redness and inflammation.”
