In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Baywatch’s original producers Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz revealed why Nicole Eggert’s appearance changed during the filming of the hit lifeguard show. Turns out we’re not the only ones comparing ourselves to those around us, as the reason for the change in this middle of season 7, according to Berk and Schwartz, may have been because of costar Pamela Anderson.
“[Nicole Eggert] felt a little bit competitive with Pam, Berk told The Hollywood Reporter of the actress who played Summer Quinn. “She had a beautiful athletic body, but didn’t have big boobs at all,” he says, adding that maybe she was feeling a little bit of pressure. “There was a holiday weekend, and for a couple of days she called in sick afterward. Then she showed up back on the set having gotten a boob job.”

Schwartz added that her impromptu plastic surgery caused some problems during filming. “I had already shot scenes with her small breasts,” Schwartz tells the magazine. “She came in wearing a jacket,” he says, explaining that he told her she couldn’t wear that because they had already shot part of the scene before where she didn’t have a jacket on. “She wanted to wear that jacket and I couldn’t figure out why. And then finally, she took off the jacket and she had these giant double Ds. I didn’t know what to do,” reports Schwartz, saying that he had to put things in front of her in scenes and hide her for the rest of the episode.
Last April, Eggert appeared on an episode of Botched, where she requested a breast reduction. “If I had to run in that bathing suit with these boobs,” she says of the possibility of ever sporting the iconic red swimsuit again, “they would be, like, hitting me in the face,” she said.
The new movie based on the classic ’80s drama stars names like Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson and is set to premiere in May of 2017.
