3 Expert Tricks for Reviving Sweaty Hair After a Workout

3 Expert Tricks for Reviving Sweaty Hair After a Workout featured image

While we all may feel good after a workout, our hair may not quite look good. Limp and sweaty strands can be hard to manage, but these tips from celebrity hairstylist Enzo Angileri can help you get the best style after your sweaty workout.

Choose the Right Hairstyle
“The best hairstyle for working out is either a ponytail or a braid,” says Angileri. “Braids can be a great solution because once you’ve finished working out, you can open them and your hair will have a little wave and texture.” If your hair is too short for either of these styles, ues a headband to keep strands away from your face as your work out.

Go-To Products
Before the workout, Angileri recommends applying a leave-in product like Infusium 23 Moisture Replenisher Leave-In Treatment ($8).”It will not only give hair extra texture, but it will also instantly transform dry, damaged locks and leave your hair more manageable after your workout.” Strands will reap all the benefits of a conditioning treatment while you’re sweating it out at the gym. After your workout, Angileri recommends using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with ingredients like avocado and olive oil.

Don’t Blow-dry
Do you always blow-dry your hair straight after you wash it? Angileri advises to skip this step. “Try to avoid blow-drying your hair as much as possible, expecially immediately after a wash.” Instead let hair air dry for as long as possible before styling. If you absolutely need to blow-dry, make sure you use a heat protectant. We like Tresemme Thremal Creations Heat Tamer Spray ($6), which delivers softness and shine while keeping heat damage at bay.
