If You Want to Know More:
If you were to take a peek at my overflowing vanity drawer, you’d find an endless supply of lipsticks, lip glosses, lip balms, lip crayons, and lip liners. Expansive and diverse, my lip collection knows no bounds. That’s what I thought, at least, until I discovered lip powders. Similar to a cream formula, but more lightweight than a matte lipstick, the Younique Moodstruck Lip Crush Lip Powders are an innovative addition to my lip collection.

Since I’d never really tried a lip powder before, I didn’t know what to expect with Younique’s collection. The lip powders come in nine vibrant shades, from a coral shimmer to a matte red hue. The most shocking part of testing these lip powders was just how incredibly pigmented they were—I had never tested a lip product that was as colorful and bright as these various lip shades. Since the formula is designed with innovative encapsulated water beads blended together with loose powder pigments, it makes sense why these products are so vibrant and creamy.

Not only were they highly pigmented, but it felt like I had nothing on my lips after application. The formula was totally weightless, and I oftentimes forgot I even had anything on while wearing it. I only had to reapply this formula once or twice throughout the day, and noticed that it held up pretty well during each mealtime.

While I loved the powder-to-cream technology, I did notice some of the pigment falling out onto my clothing during application. To avoid this, my best advice would be to make sure you wipe the applicator on the inside of the bottle a few times before lifting it to your lips to make sure there’s no excess powder that could transfer onto your clothing.

My first dip into lip powders was a positive one, and I hope that Younique’s take on the lip powder will start a trend and encourage other beauty brands to add powder-to-cream lip products to their collection. It’s hard to beat the outstanding pigmentation offered from lip powders, and I’m hoping to see more of them in beauty aisles everywhere in the future.
