Supermodels of one of the most popular lingerie brands in the world are said to follow this fast-working, pound-shedding, look-even-more-amazing-in-your-underwear diet (coined the “Victoria’s Secret Angels Diet”) right before runway season. Adriana Lima’s nutritionist, more specifically, is said to have crafted it, building a plan that is scheduled out right before the big fashion show (think big results in a short amount of time).

What you eat: Overall, this diet cuts out all processed foods. But, as it gets closer to the big show (approximately nine days out), the only food sources you can have are protein shakes and bars. That sounds brutal, but the premise delves into factors that go beyond what you eat, according to celebrity nutritionist Cynthia Pasquella. “It incorporates all aspects of health, including stress-management, sleep, breathing, hydration, exercise, and diet,” she says. “These spiritual and psychological components really make a difference when slimming down for the long-term. I love that the diet is customized to each person, but it can be a bit restrictive. If you have trouble downing protein shakes and bars, you will want to stay away from this one.”

The bottom line: This diet may be associated with health, youth and beauty, “but its lack of key nutrients will make you age quickly if you do it long-term,” says nutritionist Tina Ruggiero. “You might drop weight fast with the shake-protein bar-vegetable routine, but the odds of gaining back what you lost—and then some—are quite high,” she says. “The diet is also low in calories, which won’t sustain healthy activity or provide energy.”
