One of the things that makes us sad about Keeping up with Kardashians coming to an end is that it won’t be as easy to keep up with Khloé Kardashian. As the Kardashian-Jenner who most often serves as the voice of reason for the family, her humor, quick quips and one liners will be sorely missed. In addition to earning our vote for the most relatable of the Kardashian crew, she’s also responsible for one of the most inspiring glow-ups in all of TV history. NewBeauty recently caught up with the star to get the scoop on her pandemic glam routine, her new collagen fixation and what she’s planning to do next.

NewBeauty: What have you done to stay centered and grounded during this largely stressful year?
Khloé Kardashian: I try to do something active every day. Whether it’s a long walk with my mom or sisters or an intense workout, I find that it’s so helpful to my mental health to stay active. Now more than I ever, I think it’s important for each and every one of us to take time to do the things that make our minds and bodies feel good.

NB: What does your current skin care and makeup routine look like now that we’ve been going through a year that’s caused us to scale back?
KK: I’ve noticed a huge difference in the health of my skin and nails since I started taking collagen regularly, and throughout this pandemic, I’ve really scaled down my makeup routine. I love a fresh face, especially when I’m just hanging around the house with True.

NB: You’ve been very open with sharing your beauty treatments over the years with fans and viewers. Why do you think including collagen in your diet is as important as professional skin-care treatments?
KK: I think it’s so important to take care of your body from the inside out, and I noticed a difference in the health of my hair, skin and nails after I started adding Dose & Co. Collagen to my everyday routine. Physical things like working out and beauty treatments are great, but I think it’s also so important to nourish your body and mind on the inside, too.

NewBeauty: Why was it important to you to partner with Dose & Co. to get the word out on the benefits of collagen?
KK: I’ve always been really passionate about health and fitness and working with Libby, the founder, has helped reinforced my love for the wellness category. When you’re pregnant, you start thinking about ways to better the world and yourself, which is why I became so interested in collagen in the first place, and I’m fortunate that I have a platform where I can share the things that have helped me and enrich my life with others. This has been a really engaging process and I’m excited for the consumer response to the launch.

NB: What sets this supplement apart from others you’ve tried?
KK: I fell in love with the eco-conscious collagen blends and the brand’s mission to provide healthy, high-quality products at an accessible price point. I was taking some collagen powders after I had True because I was noticing my hair was thinning, but I was still a little frustrated that the ones I was taking had quite a few fillers or artificial color. When I discovered Dose & Co. and started talking with Libby, I became really impressed by their ingredients, mission and the plastic-free packaging and knew this was exactly what I was looking for.

NB: How have your skin and hair care needs changed or shifted since your 20s? What are the biggest differences in what you’re using now as opposed to then?
KK: I’m way stricter about using SPF now then I was when I was younger, and I tell Kendall and Kylie not to make the same mistake all the time! SPF is so important, I even put it on my hands everyday. I think overall I’m just more conscious about staying safe, healthy and happy so I want to make sure I’m putting good things in my body as well as on my face; and now that I’m a mom, nourishing myself from the inside out is more important than ever. I love how easy incorporating collagen into my routine has been. I set my coffee maker up the night before and it’s all ready to go when I wake up!

NB: We’ve all been in shock about KUWTK coming to an end next year. What can we expect from you next?
KK: I’m so excited about the U.S. launch of Dose & Co. so that’s been my priority lately. It’s been so successful in New Zealand and Australia, so I’m really excited to see how consumers like it here in the States. Outside of work and business projects, I think I’m just going to enjoy having some extra free time to spend with True!

NB: What three “can’t live without” beauty essentials would you take with you on a desert island?
KK: Mascara, a good brow pencil and my collagen!
