Between a new HBO docuseries and a first-of-its-kind “for everyone” faux lash line, LoveSeen, Jenna Lyons is back—and taking a beat to deliver a behind-the-scenes look at her bathroom’s beauty stash.

Launch Pad

“I’ve always been obsessed with my lashes—mostly because I have none of my own. I guess we notice the things in others that we are lacking. I became madly obsessed with eyelash extensions on all of the beautiful girls at J. Crew, but at the same time, found myself deep-diving into Huda Beauty tutorials with six shades of concealer and three forms of highlighter, all finishing with a glamorous, full-blown lash. I realized there was not much in between those two beauty expressions; one going for natural and pared-back amplification, while the other is over the top and full-blast beat. It seemed like maybe there was room for something different.”

Through the Lens

“I can say one of the biggest challenges has been the new landscape in developing a product in a Zoom and video world. I opted for a very subtle graphic on our packaging, and I’ve soon come to discover that was maybe not the best idea. I notice when people receive the product or share it on Instagram, it’s relatively challenging to see the logo. Chalk that up to experience! In addition, building a brand and a team through a Zoom lens is deeply challenging and not my favorite thing.”

Master Class

“For me, cult-status products are Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant, Creed Silver Mountain Water and Arcona Brightening Gommage. Things I’ve never mastered are fancy tools of any sort; anything from a curling iron to a face mask with LED lights. I’ve never figured out how to use any of that stuff.”

First Round

“I don’t have any eyelashes, so through my recent obsession with our lashes, I got to put on mascara for the very first time on my IG Live with Mary Greenwell. It was mind-blowing.”

Personal Bests

“I really like my new charcoal deodorant from Alaffia. It’s one of the first deodorants I’ve used that is not only made from charcoal, but isn’t chalky or hard to use. I also really love Wonder Valley Hinoki Body Oil; it smells great and the packaging has a naked lady on it, which is a bonus. Also, CLE Lip Melting Powder. I don’t know what it is or what I’m supposed to be doing with it, but I use it on my cheeks, lips and face, and it’s amazing.”

Daily Show

Morning: “Arcona Brightening Gommage, Lotion P50, Masque Vivant, Weleda Skin Food, Hinoki Body Oil, and David’s toothpaste, followed by seven spritzes of Creed—I know that’s too much, but it’s become a bad habit.”

Night: “I always shower at night. My new favorite thing is Jen Atkin’s hair products called OUAI. Troi, who touches my hair as much as I do, tells me that it makes the texture of my hair fantastic, and it smells good, too.”
