About My Practice
What percentage of your breast augmentation patients select silicone gel implants over saline implants?
Over 95 percent of my breast augmentation patients select silicone gel implants over saline implants. The FDA approved the return of silicone gel breast implants, clearing them for augmentation and reconstruction procedures eight years ago. Most patients select silicone gel implants because they offer a more natural feel. Some patients prefer the newly FDA-approved cohesive silicone gel “Gummy Bear” implants for a more natural look.
What is a useful beauty tip for our readers?
A warm smile can instantly enhance your appearance and bring out your natural beauty.
What is the right age to undergo eyelid rejuvenation?
Periorbital aging or aging of the eyes and brow is usually one of the first areas to reveal signs of premature aging. This can occur for many in their late 30s and early 40s. Aging around the eyes may manifest itself by a droopy brow or hooding, excess skin on the upper and lower lids and even protruding fat. Many patients will benefit from an endoscopic browlift and an upper and lower blepharoplasty. However, each patient presents with an individual set of circumstances and may only require one of these components by itself.

Can I have my saline breast implants removed and then replaced with new silicone ones through the armpit incision (which is how they were put in 11 years ago)? What our experts say:
Yes, that is possible depending on somebody who feels comfortable with the trans-axillary approach, and as long as you don't have capsular contractures or require a lift.
How can I tell if I need a breast lift, a breast lift and breast implants or just breast implants? Is there an easy formula? What our experts say:
You can simulate a lift by elevating your breasts or nipple areola and see if it feels like it's the appropriate amount of volume that you want to have. And once you see if that's an appropriate decision, if you don't feel it's enough volume, then an implant will be required. In some patients who may be deflated but don't need a lift all they need is an implant to help give them the shape and perk up their breasts. Other patients may have been deflated but also the nipple and areola are too low relative to the fold in the crease then they need a lift in conjunction with the implant.
Is there more than one way to do a butt augmentation? What our experts say:
Generally speaking, a butt augmentation is either done with a patient's own fatty tissue with fat grafting or with buttock implants which are silicone based implants. Brazilian butt diffuser refers to fat transfers to the buttocks. The fat is from your own body and combined with liposuction so the issue is you have to make sure you have enough extra fatty tissue that you can make a difference to the buttocks. So the issue becomes difficult because many of the patients we see in Southern California who desire a butt augmentation don't have much fatty tissue so if they don't have enough fatty tissue then the only option is a butt implant.
Is a facelift only for wrinkles? What else does it correct and where are the scarsWhat our experts say:
No I wouldn't say a facelift is for wrinkles. A facelift is for re-draping of looser, lax tissues involving the skin and the underlying fatty muscle layer called the SMAS.
Can I have a baby after tummy tuck or breast implant or breast lift? What our experts say:
You can have a baby after a breast augmentation or abdominoplasty. We have patients who had breast augmentation earlier in life and then have a baby following that. Sometimes they don't need to have anything further done but sometimes they might need to change the implants to a slightly larger size. Sometimes they might require a mastopexy or breast lift. As far as an abdominoplasty is concerned, in general we don't recommend someone getting an abdominoplasty if they know they're going to have additional children, especially in the upcoming few years because it doesn't inhibit you from having a child but getting pregnant again will dramatically affect the appearance of your abdomen.
