Hailey Bieber has had us on the edge of our seats awaiting her forthcoming skin-care brand. Ahead of the launch, the skin-care junkie has created a new series on her YouTube channel, “Beauty Tips & Tricks.” In the first episode, released yesterday, she explained that in each episode she’ll be trying different products with various guests. Throughout the series, Bieber and guests will share some of their skin-care tips and tricks.

In the video, Bieber said, “One of the things I love about skin care is the ritual behind it.” When she began the journey of developing her skin-care line, she did her research. “I just started diving in, learning, reading different studies, reading different articles, connecting with dermatologists, chemists, estheticians, different doctors,” said Bieber. “I’ve always loved skin care, and I’ve always loved learning about it.”

Two years ago, when she began conceptualizing her line, Bieber reached out to Hyram Yarbro, skin-care influencer and founder of Selfless by Hyram. The two shared a lengthy phone call where he shared insight. In a full-circle moment, Yarbro was the inaugural guest on Bieber’s new series.

The pair tried a couple of products together, beginning with Hers Clear Waters Facial Cleanser ($15). Bieber said she liked it a lot, it took her makeup off easily and her skin felt hydrated and soft. Then Bieber tried one of Yarbro’s products, Selfless by Hyram Retinol & Rainbow Algae Repair Serum ($30). Although Bieber said she’s rarely found a retinol product gentle enough for her, she liked how her skin still felt hydrated after using this product. Bieber explained that when it comes to retinol, she’s had a lot of “purging” issues. “Because of the skin cell turnover happening so fast, it was breaking me out, and I was getting all these tiny little breakouts.”

She shared a few other tips along the way. For anti-aging without retinol, Bieber said an esthetician once told her that pinching motions are good for stimulating collagen in the skin. A hot tip for both skin care and anxiety is to cool down. “I always feel like the icing, and cold stuff for the face is really good for anxiety as well. It’s like a really good reset to start the day,” said Bieber.
