Pamela Anderson has made headlines over the past few months as she’s shed societal expectations and hit red carpets with a bare face. Going makeup-free makes having quality skin care all the more important since there’s nothing to hide behind. In what seems like a natural progression, Anderson has teamed up with Sonsie, a vegan, cruelty-free skin-care brand, as its co-founder.

Anderson says a skin-care partnership has been a long time coming for her, but the time is now finally right. “People have been asking me to do skin-care and beauty products since, you know, Baywatch days, but I just was looking at it going, ‘Well, Is it sustainable? Is it cruelty-free?’ And people used to think I was crazy back then,” she tells WWD. “I’m glad I kind of held out this long and really found the right connection…The stars aligned,” she says.
Marie von Behrens-Felipe and Roberto A. Felipe are behind the brand. Anderson met the couple through her son Dylan Jagger Lee’s girlfriend, Paula Bruss. “Pamela is really kind of holding us accountable as this thing kind of ramped up and continues to build. But also informing our product strategy,” Roberto tells WWD. “We couldn’t imagine a better potential cofounder, partner to be going down this journey, given everything that she’s gone through and her ability now to take control and really write her own story. And I think Sonsie is going to be a nice part of that.”
The launch features three products, with more to come. Anderson loves the Sonsie Basic Balm ($22) because “It’s not a lip balm that I have to keep on reapplying and reapplying. It actually stays, keeps its shine,” she says. The Multi Moisture Mask ($48) is perfect for Anderson’s minimalistic beauty look—she says she wears it all the time as her makeup. She says the Super Serum ($64) is really luxurious. “No scent, which I really love. It doesn’t conflict with my love potions that I like to pour all over myself, my own concoctions.”
