Makeup maven Meredith Duxbury has captivated her nearly 20 million followers on TikTok with her bold glam. Dubbed “the complexion queen of TikTok,” she had beauty enthusiasts in a hot debate over her viral foundation challenge a couple years ago and has partnered with many top brands. (The fashion and beauty content creator loves her foundation). Though we’re familiar with many of the makeup products Duxbury calls favorites, we wanted to pick her brain on her skin-care routine. And specifically, which makeup remover she relies on to take it all off. Here, Meredith Duxbury opens up about cleansing and so much more.
What makeup removers are you loving right now?
“Melting balms are my favorite! I love the new Tatcha Indigo Cleansing Balm. It’s fragrance-free, so it’s great for people with sensitive skin. It’s so nourishing and melts the makeup right off your skin in seconds, leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated.”
What skin-care tips have you learned that you swear by?
“I swear by double cleansing! I started doing this within the past few years, and it’s so much better than just using one cleanser. I would always see leftover makeup on my skin after washing it and I knew it needed more. That’s why I always go in with a melting balm first. I learned this from experience!”
Do you use any facial tools before doing your makeup for extra glow?
“No, I’m usually in such a pinch in the morning and don’t have time. I have used the NuFACE device though and it is life-changing. I just wish I had more time in the morning to do a full routine!”
There’s a big debate over whether or not we need eye cream. Do you use one?
“I don’t use an under-eye cream daily. I only use one when I feel like my under-eyes are really lacking hydration, or if I’m traveling on a plane. If I do use one, I’m usually using the OleHenriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème. I like to keep my skin-care routine pretty simple!”
Which other content creators do you admire in the beauty space?
“I really admire Marianna Hewitt. Even though she’s more of an entrepreneur, I think she’s done such a great job with Summer Fridays. The brand itself is simple yet beautiful. The products are gorgeous and have amazing quality! My favorites are her Lip Butter Balm and her Blush Balm.”
