While switching up our workouts every day would be ideal, it’s a tedious process to brainstorm new techniques and exercises to add to our daily fitness routine, especially while we’re still working out from home. Thankfully, Kate Hudson took to Instagram to share a new workout she’s been doing, and we not only gained some much-needed inspiration, but also a new device to add to our shopping carts, too.
In the post, the 42-year-old actress is spinning a water-filled device, also known as the Onnit HydroCore Bag ($110), around her head in circles, with direction from her trainer Brain Nguyen. “This gives ‘staying centered’ a whole new meaning for me,” she writes in her caption. “First time taking this for a ride, definitely not the last.”
Explaining what this odd-looking device does, co-founder of PHANTOM Rhys Athayde says, “These bags are great for strength training, stability, flexibility, endurance and explosiveness. Due to the bag being partially filled with water, the user gets pulled out of their position as the water moves around. This forces the user to pay attention to their stability and maintain form throughout the exercise.”
Hudson has now been training with Nguyen for weeks, and their hard work is paying off. In a previous Instagram post, featuring a different workout from the star, she says “She’s starting to wake up! Carried 3 babies who did a number on these hips and shoulders! Ladies! We carry our beautiful children ALL DAY LONG (literally AND figuratively) and forget to balance it out. Time to balance that SH#! OUT!” With the combination of workouts Hudson is doing, we’re confident she will reach her goal.
